MQ-6 LPG Propane Butane Gas Sensor Module – High Sensitivity Combustible Gas Detection
The MQ-6 Gas Sensor Module is designed for detecting LPG, propane, and butane gases in the air, making it ideal for safety and leak-detection applications.
It can sense gas concentrations from 200 to 10,000 ppm with high accuracy.
The sensor features fast response and recovery times, offering real-time monitoring for home and industrial environments.
Its sensing element is made of SnO₂ (tin dioxide), which has low conductivity in clean air. When combustible gases are present, conductivity increases proportionally, allowing the sensor to output a corresponding analog voltage.
With a simple 5V heating circuit and basic load-resistor interface, this module is easy to integrate with microcontrollers such as Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi.
The MQ-6 offers excellent sensitivity to propane, butane, LPG, methane, and hydrogen, while maintaining stability over long-term use.
Its dual output (analog + TTL digital) makes it suitable for both threshold-based detection and continuous gas-level measurement.
